2016 KICKR power spike almost stops my pedals!

Posting for a friend who is a TR user but not into the Forum thing, so I don’t have specific details. He is getting power spikes that practically stop his pedals. It’s happening every 2nd or 3rd workout.

Anyone have this happen to them?

This is fairly common and usually has to do with signal dropouts. Basically, the signal dropouts out for a very small amount of time (sometimes you can barely notice it) and the Kickr thinks you are not pedaling so in order to keep you at the target power, it ramps up the resistance.

You can check out this article from our Help Center: https://support.trainerroad.com/hc/en-us/articles/201802644-Device-Dropouts

If you are still experiencing issues, have them reach out to support@trainerroad.com and they will get it all figured out.

Thank you! I will pas that along.

I had this problem on my Gen1 Kickr as well. That, and some issues with inaccurate power, led me to switch to a Tacx Neo. I don’t get the spikes on the Neo.
