Anyone made much use of HRV (Heart rate variability) for indicating fatigue and deciding on rest

I see you can now get apps that work with particular HR monitors which will give you data on heart rate variability as an indicator of fatigue levels. Anyone got experience of using HRV? Is it useful / worthwhile?

I’ve been using the Whoop strap for almost a year now, and it’s been a great aide in helping me to prioritize recovery.

Mostly it helps me to be aware of the effects of adequate sleep, and it’s always helpful to see the breakdown of your recovery metrics each morning.

The price is steep at $30/mo, and honestly after using it this long I can estimate my recovery pretty accurately, but I find comfort is seeing the numbers each day.
