Beta-hydroxy beta-methylbutyrate (HMB) and Beta-Alanine supplements

I am considering using Torq Hot Chocolate recovery plus drink, which has HMB and Beta- Alanine in.
Has anyone had experience with these as supplements?

I used it; got the infamous tingly sensations; was not a massive fan !

There are some interesting studies on HMB and resveratrol, up-regulation of AMPK and mitochondrial biogenesis. A quick Google search should assist, not too sure the research in humans is robust. I thought it was but without spending a few hours digging I can’t confirm.

thanks SeanVintin
I decided it was too complex and uncertain to be filling my body with doses of these supplements long term.
I guess I don’t want it bad enough to risk my health. I did find some cacoa pwder which makes good hot chocolate and I like without sweetening :grinning:

New study here regarding resveratrol and mitochondrial biogenesis: Resveratrol Promotes Mitochondrial Biogenesis and Protects against Seizure-Induced Neuronal Cell Damage in the Hippocampus Following Status Epilepticus by Activation of the PGC-1α Signaling Pathway - PubMed

But is that any better than a diet righ in grape (with seeds) and pomegranate for polyphenol content?

This study indicates that resveratrol enhances mitochondria activity during exercise and can mitigate muscle loss as we age.
