Cyclocross break


I’m 2 races into a CX season in the UK. I’ve now got a break of 18 days before my next race and thinking I should do a block of training before the next race. Any suggestions of what I should do?


I would do some VO2 max sessions and take a few hours to practice cross skills. Depending on your skill level this might have a higher impact on results than actually being on the trainer. You can get a good idea of what TR workouts to do based on the cyclocross specialty plan.


Did you just finish a base->build->specialize cycle?

If so what I’d recommend is trying to extend your peak - not adding in additional work. Do some intensity but don’t do much volume. Go work on your skills and drills
