High Cadence, Lower Watts

Tips to maintain high cadence (100+) with lower watts (<125)? It’s hard to find the right gearing on the trainer.

It’s a matter of being able to control the pedal stroke without letting the cadence “get away from you.” It’ll just climb and climb unless you are able to maintain a certain cadence without coasting.

1 leg drills can help. Either focus on one leg at a time or take other one completely out of pedal. When brought back together, everything will feel smoother.

You can also try to spin to max cadence you can handle, like 160 few times, going back to 100 will feel really easy.
