The value of low intensity training

The topic of polarized training has been discussed at length so I don’t really see a need to revisit that topic. What I found interesting in the attached paper is how the high volume (low intensity) group responded to the training intervention. Specifically the HVT group was the only group to see a reduction in peak lactate during the VO2 testing (Table 2). The other interesting finding was that the HIIT group was the only group to see a reduction on body mass (page 4).
