Training weight and race weight


Hi TR , I have a general question about weight management and how to know when to lose weight for racing - in the past I’ve herd you talk about having a higher % of fat/weight during training and then comming down to a"race weight" the reason not to maintain a race weight all year round being - having a low body fat % for a long period of time comes with its own wellbeing issues (one that springs to mind is getting i’ll), but on the flipside of the coin whenever weight loss is mentioned its recommended to lose weight during the off season , how do you lose weight close to a race without comprimising power loss ,I am a triathlete so whilst i understand a few lbs lighter may not gain me a mass of time on the bike it will certainly help me later on , on the run , thanks - Jono
