I’ve got the Roval CLX50s rims. Tubless ready. So far I’ve been riding the continental 4000 with tubes. These tires are great all rounders. Now I’m considering when the 4000 gets wasted to try Tubless. Between all the available TR tyres I’m in between choosing the Pro ones or the 5000.
What do I know so far:
- Pro One are lighter with less rolling resistance and cheaper in sales specially the regular version (EVO OSC) because they have two version and the Addix Race are closer to the price range of the 5000.
- The 5000 have better vibration and shocks absorption and better puncture resistance and also longer duration that makes them in time used VS price, maybe cheaper than the Addix Race and close to the pro ones EVO OSC.
All togheter I’m more inclined for the 5000 because I’ve a great experience riding the 4000 with tubes and I don’t like having to change tyres often due to a low duration, specially since they are not cheap, and because I prefere having less punctures and more confort than a little less weight and maybe a little more speed. Going for the Pro Ones only the EVO version maybe due to the price right now.
Who has experience ridding both? I’d appreciate some feedback.
Are they easily mounted on my Roval rims?
What about the size. Going for 25mm or 28mm? So far with the 4000 I’ve been riding the 25mm and the Roval rims make them look larger than they really are. The size is a concern to me not only because of performance and weight but also due to the fact that the 4000 with 25mm on my rims gets the rubber already close to the frame (I ride them on a canyon ultimate). I also know that the 25mm version of the Pro Ones are when mounted, larger than the 5000 so maybe on Swalble I’d go for the 25mm while on the 5000 I’d be seriously in doubt on which size to pick.
I’d also appreciate some good tips on best deals on both tires in EU webstores.
