What do I do with my "off" leg during ILTs?

Where do people put their non-pedaling leg during a workout like Goddard? I’ve seen mentions of using a stool elsewhere, but this isn’t practical when you’re switching back and forth between legs every 30 seconds or so.

If your trainer has any type of mounts/extrusions (usually on non-direct drive trainers), you can simply move your foot back and rest it on there. Or just hold it back there in the air, it’s only 30 seconds…

I just let it dangle a bit back from the center of the bike, and clear of the spinning pedal.

I put a wee stool next to my bike to rest my foot on.
